The consortium is feeling positive as it is summer and because the situation of the Covid-19 pandemic is improving. Our project is also progressing at a very satisfactory pace. We are in the final
stages of recruiting the project cocreators, and the feedback we have received so far has been particularly positive. Our co-creators appear to be very excited and ready to share their culinary talents.

All the partners are actively involved in developing the educational material that we will hopefully start uploading to the elearning platform soon.

In the meantime, you can follow us and be informed about the latest project news on our social networking sites, where we often upload quizzes and delicious traditional recipes. Please find the links in this email.

Summer has come in most of our countries, more timidly in some than others… As restrictions are easing throughout Europe, we hope you are enjoying these first days of summer

In Traceus, we are hard at work on our training modules, from Unit 1 (Before you start) which will contain some general information on smartphones and on cooking videos (from the best to the hopeful), Unit 2 on Recipes, Culture and Traditions from all the countries in the partnership, Unit 3 where we will look at how to tell the story of your recipe, all the way to Unit 6 when you will be shown how to send or upload your video.

Our social media team in eSeniors is very active, so if you are on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram, make sure you follow us for some information and some fun facts about food and recipes in Europe.

Project Updates

Spring is well and truly here, with the beautiful month of May – although for many of our partner countries, it did not live up to its promises, more like a last burst of winter than a start of summer. Maybe that’s why we are late with our newsletter this month, hoping for summer.

This was the month when our second partners meeting was meant to take place, and it did, but we went to Paris virtually only. It was a great visit though, following a map to wonderful restaurants, watching one of the French co-creators make a dish for us, and finally taking a quiz on European food (this was a keeper, you will find it in your course next Autumn).

Finally, we now have a learning platform, designed by Cardet in Cyprus; we will now work to produce and translate the material for the course.

Project Updates

Winter has turned into Spring, but many of our partner countries are still or again in lock-down. Our project however is gathering pace, we have all become adept at zoom meetings! All the partners have now recruited their co-creators, who have already given us some invaluable feedback on the website, and on the training needs of seniors. Our website will be online in the next few weeks, and we are turning our attention to our learning platform –one which will soon be familiar to all participants. At our last meeting, it was decided to continue this newsletter for the whole lifetime of the project, so we will have the opportunity to meet all our co-creators, and to hear about even more recipes and food traditions throughout Europe and beyond.

Project Updates

After a round of initial meetings, Traceus has truly started! Cardet, our partners in Cyprus, have created our website, which will go online very soon.

The most exciting news is that co-creators have joined the project in all participating countries. This will make our project different and more relevant to the audience we are hoping to reach. The insights and experience of all our co-creators will guide us to produce accessible learning material, and ultimately, will help to produce interesting and engaging recipes and cooking videos.

From talking to them, we already know that one of the reasons for participating is their interest in cuisines and recipes from other European countries. Many have travelled, and enjoyed eating local dishes and meals, and they are looking forward to hearing more about the food traditionally prepared in Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus,France, Ireland, Spain and beyond, through the participation of people from other lands and cultures. We will now devote our time to the preparation ofa learning platform and a learning module which will concentrate on how to talk about recipes and food traditions, and on using smartphones for video.
